This year has been an incredible year for Rork Projects. Celebrating 25 years of success, we are so proud of the work that we have delivered for our clients, contractors and community.
Rork Projects has been the proud recipient of several awards that highlight our diverse and inclusive culture; notably winning the Property Council of Australia’s Award for Diversity (<250 employees) and being named an Australian Business Award Employer of Choice for the fourth consecutive year.
NEW SOUTH WALES
In Sydney this year we welcomed our new General Manager for NSW, Peter Kang. Under Peter’s leadership, the team have delivered and continue to deliver projects for our valuable partners and clients including Australia Post, the University of Sydney and Great Southern Bank.
Of note was the fit out that we delivered for CSIRO as they moved into their new home at the ‘Innovation Quarter’ at Western Sydney University in Westmead. This 2000m2 project included delivery of both technical spaces and shared office environments, and the result is fantastic.
QUEENSLAND
In Queensland our projects this year stretched from coast to coast as we delivered projects for both the private and public sectors. We completed our second new build project at Caboolture in collaboration with DeMartini Fletcher – a multi-level new build at 10 King Street.
Rork Projects Queensland is proud to have been appointed to the Queensland University of Technology’s Builders Panel, which sees us placed among QUT’s preferred head contractors. Next year we are also working with Frasers Property to fit out their new Brisbane head office, located within the new West Village Precinct.
VICTORIA
Our team in Victoria have had a strong year delivering projects in Melbourne and across the region. Regionally works are continuing on Stage 2 of the Mildura Powerhouse Precinct which will be wrapped up in the first half of next year.
An important project for the team this year was delivering a new fit out for Yoorrook Justice Commission, creating a safe space that fosters truth-telling. The project was also delivered under an ECI agreement over two stages, de-risking the project for our client.
We also worked closely with GHD to support the delivery of the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) STEAM Program – supporting young Indigenous students to undertake practical work experience to see our industry first-hand.
AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
In Canberra the team have been kept busy delivering a project in NSW – the NSW Police Academy Cadet Accommodation in Goulburn. We are partway through delivering this project which will see the complete refurbishment to bedroom units across eight towers, including upgrades to the common areas.
We strive to consistently take a partnership approach to how we work with all our valued clients; an approach that has gone from strength to strength with the University of Canberra. At last count we have delivered nine projects on the campus, most recently completing the Optometry and Robotics Lab fit outs and the courtyard refurbishment currently underway.
It was also fantastic to continue our partnership with the Canberra Raiders who have been a huge support not only of Rork Projects but of the Wa Initiative. Through our partnership they supported us to raise more than $3,300 for the Wa Initiative.
