Rork Projects wins Employer of Choice

Back to Back Employer of Choice Win for Rork

For the second consecutive year, Rork Projects has been recognised as an Employer of Choice (EOC) in The Australian Business Awards 2020.

Now in their fifteenth year, The Australian Business Awards (ABA) are an annual all-encompassing awards program which recognises organisations that demonstrate the core values of business innovation, product innovation, technological achievement and employee engagement via a set of comprehensive award categories.

The EOC recognises organisations that develop workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through established policies and practices which demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.

The 2020 Award comes on the back of last year’s accolade which saw Rork Projects being the first Indigenous business to be named as an Employer of Choice.

Brian O’Rourke, Rork Projects Co-Owner and Managing Director, says that the prestigious award provides recognition of Rork’s investment in its staff through a culture of innovation, teamwork and problem-solving.

“Becoming an Employer of Choice hasn’t happened overnight; we have consciously and deliberately worked to achieve the right culture,” he said.

“Importantly, this year is all about listening to our staff as we all faced uncertainty as a result of the COVID19 Pandemic,” he added.

For co-owner John Paul Janke, the 2020 Award highlighted Rork Projects’ priority in creating a collaborative, caring and dynamic workplace.

“Without the right people, Rork Projects doesn’t move forward and this affects our team and our clients.”

Organisational participation includes private companies, public companies, multi-national subsidiaries, non-government organisations, educational institutions, government departments, government agencies, local government and statutory bodies operating in Australia.

Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of organisational culture; leadership and strategy; employee education, training & development; employee health, safety & satisfaction; performance management; recognition & remuneration.
