December has been a big month for Rork Projects and DeMartini Fletcher Property, with the major suspended slab concrete pour at 28 King Street now complete.
Spectacular drone footage captures the pour and the methods used to reinforce the concrete.
Post tensioning is a technique used to reinforce and stabilise large slabs of concrete. Tendons, which consist of cables within plastic sleeves, are expertly positioned in the core of the slab. As the concrete cures, the cables are pulled to tension, compressing the concrete and providing additional strength. The benefits of a PT slab include thinner concrete and greater flexibility which not only saves on cost but also allows for quicker construction and increased performance.
