Grand Building gets Rork upgrade

It’s always a privilege and a responsibility to work on grand buildings of architectural and historical significance.

Rork Projects has been engaged by Project and Development Management Consultancy Case Meallin and Investment Managers Challenger under an Early Contractor Involvement contract (ECI) to assist in the design development and further upgrade of the Gollin Company building at 563 Bourke Street, Melbourne.

The Gollin building is a rare example of Queen Anne style architecture.

Built in 1902, it illustrates the economic revival in Melbourne following the depression and collapse of the property market in the previous decade.

The former Gollin Company was a hugely successful trading firm until the mid 20th Century, supplying kerosene and oil as well as shipping fruit from Victoria to England

The ECI process means projects can be completed faster, in this case the project will be designed and completed ahead of the Christmas shutdown period.
