Rork Projects was engaged for the provision of Construction Management services for the ABC National News Project, which provided a more efficient news production fit out over two floors at 700 Harris Street Ultimo.
The project involved co-locating a fully digital, cross-platform continuous News production centre on the ground floor and the Sydney Newsroom and daily Current Affairs programs on to Level 1. The scope included a new flexible workspace; sound and editing studios; relocation and supply of new furniture; reconfiguration of services and finishes and the installation of an interconnecting stair across two levels.
The project was designed with an ABC Flexible Working Environment (FWE) policy, Change Management principles relating to National News’ new business workflows as well as technological upgrades. A highly detailed, staged program was in place to ensure minimal disruption to the 24 hour news team and highly secure, occupied environment.
As an Indigenous business, we proudly acknowledge that this project was completed on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation.
