Rork Canberra announces partnership with Westpac

Rork, Canberra’s original construction and fit out company, partnered with one of Australia’s most iconic institutions to transform office operations in response to the changing landscape of global banking.

Westpac engaged Rork Projects as head contractors to deliver design and construct services for an exciting fit out of their ‘Civic Quarter’ on Northbourne Avenue in Canberra.

The nine-week project saw the consolidation of two existing Westpac offices into one combined premium office site.

The 770m2 fit out aligned with Westpac’s design guidelines regarding the look, feel and use of space. Amenities in the space will include open plan workstations, a range of internal meeting facilities, breakout spaces, reception and utility spaces.

Scott Lamb, GM of Rork Projects ACT, warmly welcomed the opportunity to work with one of Australia’s iconic institutions in the national capital.

“It was an exciting project for Rork and we welcomed the opportunity to work with one of the most iconic – and one of the oldest – corporates in the national capital.”

The first Westpac branch (then known as Bank of NSW) was in Kingston in 1926.

Rork Projects Co-Owner John Paul Janke also acknowledged the opportunity to work with Westpac as part of their recent commitment to the Business Council’s Raising the Bar initiative.

“We’re honoured to work with Westpac to boost Indigenous businesses, create new opportunities and deliver greater economic participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples,” John said.

“It’s great to see Westpac backing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses not only as customers, but in their supply chain. It’s a leading example of helping the Indigenous business sector to prosper and grow.”
