It’s the vibe: refurbishment work at the High Court

We are pleased to announce Rork Projects has been appointed by the High Court of Australia to complete the construction of a new security control room and refurbishment of the ground floor lobby with staff entry.

The project includes working with the heritage architect on matching the existing building’s unique details, including the bush hammer concrete finish and extension of the existing tiling to the lobby.

Project is due for completion in early summer.

Construction on High Court of Australia of began in April 1975 on the shore of Lake Burley Griffin, in the Parliamentary Triangle. The site is just to the east of the axis running between Capital Hill and the Australian War Memorial.

The building was completed in 1980. The High Court was awarded the Canberra Medallion by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects in 1980. The building was opened by Queen Elizabeth II, on 26 May 1980.
