At Rork Projects we get particularly excited to see our team members achieving great things both in and out of the office. Recently in Queensland, our Bid Manager Lisa Ferris was invited to speak on a panel to the Year 10 students at St James College, Brisbane in Spring Hill.
Lisa spoke about her experiences as a woman in the construction industry, her career progression, and the fantastic pathways available in this industry for Inspiring the Future and Women in Design and Construction’s (WIDAC) school series event, ‘Our Leaders of Tomorrow.’
It was amazing to see a host of women across different fields of design and construction, coming together to not just educate, but inspire the future generation of women into an industry that may have not been something that would have previously considered.
The culture and the power that the WIDAC community creates for young women is something that is truly special in such a traditionally male-dominated industry.
We thank Inspire the Future and WIDAC for the opportunity to share our stories and the opportunities that are available for women in the built environment sector.
