Movember @ Rork
We proudly participated in Movember 2018 through a national month long fundraising effort across our Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney offices.
Men’s health is important to us as 75% of the Rork workforce are males.
We raised $4.022 which will help the Movember Foundation with programs tackling and raising awareness about prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Update on our Brisbane Team
They’re north of the border and don’t have daylight savings but our Brisbane team has been using that extra hour of sleep to foster growth of their lush moustaches. Two weeks in the results speak for themselves.
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men. It’s already killing hundreds of thousands of men each year, and those who survive face serious side effects. We can’t afford to let this continue. So we’re taking action
Testicular cancer strikes early. It’s the most common cancer in young Australian men.
Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Around the world, on average we lose a man to suicide every minute of every day. Six out of 10 suicides are men. Too many are toughing it out and struggling alone
“Let’s make a difference”
Here’s our Senior Project Manager in Canberra, Brett Naylor with a great insight into his motivations for participating in Movember. As a company we’re fundraising to make a difference for men’s health – and stop men dying too young. Well done Brett!
