Originally constructed as a wool store, the five-storey, timber and brick framed building was used as office accommodation in more recent years. Rork Projects was engaged to manage the design, change of use (class 5 to 9B) and construction of this private, tertiary level education facility.

The reliance on timber framing for support made it necessary to undertake significant upgrade works to the whole building’s essential fire services, not just to the levels occupied by the academy. Further scope of works included full mechanical plant and duct replacement; new classrooms, collaboration and breakout spaces including new wall, ceiling and floor finishes and new power, data services.
