Rork Projects were engaged by Barnardos on behalf of ACT Together to Design and Construct their new offices under an open book Construction Management role. Five of Australia’s most respected child welfare organisations joined forces to create ACT Together, which is a new consortium responsible for providing foster care services to children and young people in the ACT.
The project comprised 1600m2 of vacant office space at 26 Thynne Street in Bruce which was transformed into a youth/child friendly contact centre and administrative hub. The office consisted of a central ‘client side’ area with contact rooms, meeting rooms and training facilities. There were two administrative wings that flanked this area for 110 support staff. A new private entrance with air lock was created with reception, waiting and play areas.
