ACU Paramedicine

ACU Campus, Watson, Canberra, ACT
Fit-out
9 weeks
Sandrick Project Directions, TDK Architects
Lump sum contract
400m2

This medical fit-out consisted of the conversion of the existing Lewin’s Library space into a Paramedicine Facility with circulating cloister space and uninterrupted access to the future ambulance parking area. Although a small teaching facility, the build was complex, including a steel support structure holding up the three storey building allowing for a more open feel and larger teaching spaces.

The facility was constructed to match hospital infrastructure to offer a corresponding simulation environment. The mechanical infrastructure proved challenging as the original design could not be accommodated within the ceiling void and hence had to be redesigned by Rork and our mechanical subcontractor.

Delivered on time, the end result received much praise from all stakeholders.
