Leverrier St, Bruce ACT 2617
Major Mechanical Upgrades
42 Weeks
AIS, Australian Sports Commission
Lump sum contract

Rork Projects were selected by the Australian Institute of Sport to complete major mechanical upgrades to buildings 11, 25, 31 & 32.

Works on the testing and training centre included the removal of plant roof, and supply and installation of a chiller, two large built up air handling units, boilers, pumps, hot water coils, tanks and vessels, and four heat exchangers.

The Multi Sport Hall required full demolition of existing structures, as well as the supply and installation of new roof mounted hot water plant, new wall mounted fan coil units which are connected to the central plant, fabric duct serving the gymnasium, and installation of compliant new access stairways.

The AIS Visitors Centre required the supply and installation of new roof mounted air conditioning units, new roof mounted hot water plant, and new hot water coils, as well as modification to the existing installation.

The project came through well under budget and was received with much acclaim from all stakeholders. Works were undertaken whilst the AIS campus remained operational with only the pool shutting down for its complicated major refurbishment. This project was submitted for a MBA award for technical complexity.

As an Indigenous business, we proudly acknowledge that this project was completed on the lands of the Ngunnuwal people.
