Rork Projects was engaged by Hymba Yumba Independent School – an indigenous school located in Springfield, QLD – to undertake the refurbishment of a building’s Ground Floor, Level 1 and Level 2 classrooms and external areas; construction of two new external learning spaces; and upgrade of the building’s mechanical system.
The school remained operational for the duration of the construction works, with works strategically sequenced to maintain access to eight live learning spaces for students.
Working hours were restricted to 6.30am to 6.30pm to minimise disruption to nearby residents, with noisy works restricted to outside of school operating hours. Student movements into, around and out of the school were safely managed through the implementation of Rork’s Project Management Plan.
