After almost four months of alternating day and night shift work, the Southgate Shopping Centre’s vertical transport upgrade works are nearing completion as programmed.
All the moving walks are now back in service with the final remaining pair of escalators due to open at the end of November and in time for the Christmas shopping period.
The combination of a technically challenging project delivered in a live shopping centre environment has meant that all stakeholders have had to do their upmost in keeping open and daily lines of communication to ensure minimal disruptions whilst maintaining a high level of safety.
