On the Gold Coast today, Co-Owners John Paul Janke, Brian O’Rourke and Angela O’Rourke took part in the Yalari Orientation Camp to meet with new students as they begin their Yalari scholarships.
Winanggaay Nguurrang – meaning the camp of thinking of understanding, in the Wiradjuri language – is an important step in each young Yalari students’ journey, bringing together new Year 7 students with their Year 8 buddies and senior leaders to set them up for success in the program.
One of the most exciting parts of the day was getting to see Nevaeh in her role as a Senior Student Leader. Through the Wa Initiative, Rork Projects has been supporting Nevaeh to attend Clayfield College over the last 4 years and we are immensely proud to see her taking on these new leadership roles as she heads into her senior years of high school.
