Fyshwick and Bruce, ACT
New build, chiller upgrade

Design and construct

Rork Projects has successfully completed the design and construction of a new heavy goods lift and elevated walkway at Block D CIT Fyshwick, as well as the design and construction of the new Chillers to Block A CIT Bruce.

Block D at Fyshwick houses the mechanical and trades workshops who require a large goods lift for the vertical transport of large heavy mechanical equipment & motors. The large 2.5ton capacity commercial grade Kone lift, coupled with the wide elevated concrete walk way, provides access to the mezzanine areas of the workshops.  The project included works associated to hydrovac excavations, detailed formwork, concrete, blockwork and structural steel. The electrical infrastructure had to be upgraded to cater for the new lift, new DB and associated lighting.

At CIT Bruce, the two new 1400kWr and 750kWr capacity chillers were installed and coupled up to the existing pipe work, including new controls and BMS systems compatible with the existing building management system.

Both projects were delivered on time and on budget for ACT Government’s Major Projects Canberra on behalf of their client the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT).

As an Indigenous business, we proudly acknowledge that this project was completed on the lands of the Ngunnuwal people.
